Pritchett takes command of Alabama National Guard

In a ceremony at the Alabama National Guard Joint Force Headquarters in Montgomery last Friday, Brigadier General David K. Pritchett officially assumed command of the entire Alabama National Guard. Pritchett was promoted after the retirement of former Adjutant General Major General Sheryl E. Gordon, the first woman to ever hold the position.

An Alabama man and his brother were given matching life sentences in federal prison by a Montgomery judge Thursday. Jason Starr of Coffee Springs and his brother Darin Starr of Lakehills, Texas have been convicted of carrying out a murder-for-hire-plot which culminated in the shooting death of Jason Starr's ex wife Sara, a mother of four.
