Tuberville, Shelby join Georgia’s Warnock, Ossoff to honor Hank Aaron

On Thursday, U.S. Sens. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) and Richard Shelby (R-Tuscaloosa) announced they were joining their colleagues, U.S. Sens. Raphael Warnock (D-GA) and Jon Ossoff (D-GA) to introduce a resolution to honor Mobile native former Atlanta Brave Hank Aaron.

Aaron, considered one of the greatest right fielders of all time, recently died at age 86.

He spent 23 seasons in the big leagues and played for the Braves franchise in Milwaukee and Atlanta, and also played two seasons for the Milwaukee Brewers.

“Hammerin’ Hank Aaron, a Mobile native, was one of the greatest ever to play the game,” Tuberville said in a statement. “His impact stretched far beyond the baseball field. He was a leader in his community and a role model to many across our nation. He made Mobile, our great state of Alabama, and our country proud. I am happy to join with my colleagues to honor his enduring legacy.”
