Yellowhammer News has learned the Alabama Republican Party’s candidate committee has removed at least three names from its May 24 primary ballot involved in state legislative races.

Under the 2019 Literacy Act, children who cannot read at a third-grade level by the end of their third-grade year would not be promoted to the fourth grade.

What has been deemed as one of the more controversial pieces of legislation thus far this quadrennium has been HB 2, which is anti-rioting legislation brought by State Rep. Allen Treadaway (R-Morris).
