U.S. Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Huntsville) is continuing with his effort to challenge the results of the Electoral College vote from certain states when Congress meets in a joint session on January 6.
As stated, it would require one member of the U.S. House and one member of the U.S. Senate to have a chance to succeed, with Brooks being the member of the House. As of Sunday, it remains unclear who might be the member of the Senate.
However, in an interview with New York City’s 77WABC, President Donald Trump hinted that could come from U.S. Sen.-elect Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn), who will be sworn in on January 3.
Trump revealed during an appearance on Sunday’s broadcast of “Uncovering the Truth with Rudy Giuliani & Dr. Maria Ryan” that he had spoken to Tuberville, describing him as a “great gentleman.”
“I spoke to a great gentleman Tommy Tuberville last night, and he’s so excited,” Trump said. “He said you made me the most popular politician in the United States. He said, ‘I can’t believe it.’ He’s great — great senator.”
