Tuberville vows to not allow Biden to distract with vaccine mandate — ‘We’re going to hang this Afghanistan deal around their neck until the election’

Tuesday, during an appearance on Birmingham radio Talk 99.5’s “Matt & Val Show,” U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) pledged to make sure President Joe Biden’s misguided decisions on the Afghanistan withdrawal was fresh on the minds of voters as the upcoming midterm election cycle approaches.

Tuberville said he saw the move to mandate COVID-19 vaccinations through OSHA as an effort to distract from the failed Afghanistan effort.

“[T]hey do not want anybody talking about Afghanistan,” he said. “Vaccine mandate — they know it is against the law to do this. But Biden said, ‘Let’s get the media off our back, and let’s throw something about there that is not lawful, and get everybody talking about something else.’”

“We’re going to hang this Afghanistan deal around their neck until the election next year,” Tuberville continued. “Joe Biden — no way he can get reelected. He probably won’t run. But they’re really trying to hold on to the House and Senate. They will lose the House definitely. We’ve just got to get the Senate.”
