Jeff Coleman congressional campaign airs spot in Dothan during Super Bowl broadcast; Likens Barry Moore to Biden, AOC, Pelosi

One of the more peculiar candidacies of the 2022 election cycle is former Business Council of Alabama chairman Jeff Coleman’s bid for Alabama’s second congressional seat.

Although he has not qualified or formally declared his intention to seek the GOP nomination against incumbent U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise), a 30-second spot promoting him as a candidate aired on Dothan NBC affiliate WRGX during Sunday’s broadcast of Super Bowl LVI.

As of Sunday night, the only Republican to have qualified for the race, according to the Alabama Republican Party’s website, is Moore. However, sources tell Yellowhammer News that Coleman’s candidacy on the GOP ticket is still being disputed.

Coleman’s ad features shots of President Joe Biden, U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and Moore, suggesting they are “namby-pamby politicians.”

Transcript as follows:

NARRATOR: The namby-pamby politicians ain’t today. Jeff Coleman has been a hard-working trucker since he was a kid, helped his family build one of the world’s largest trucking companies — a super-conservative businessman with dirt under his nails. Coleman is proven Alabama tough. He’ll get Trump’s agenda fired back up – the wall, taxes and abroad.

COLEMAN: Socialists remaking America? Not on my watch. I’m Jeff Coleman, and I approved this message.
