On Thursday, Attorney General Steve Marshall picked up a significant endorsement of his 2022 reelection effort.

Manufacture Alabama, a self-described trade association dedicated to “the competitive, legislative, regulatory and operational interests and needs of manufacturers and their partner industries and businesses,” announced its “full endorsement” of Marshall.

George Clark, president of Manufacture Alabama, touted Marshall’s commitment to consumers and industry and his willingness to take on “federal overreach” as qualities that made him worthy of their endorsement.

“Manufacture Alabama is endorsing Attorney General Steve Marshall for reelection due to his commitment to our state, his tireless work to protect consumers and his understanding of industry and the needs of our manufacturers,” Clark said in a statement accompanying the announcement of the endorsement. “Attorney General Marshall has pushed back against harmful regulations and federal overreach and he is committed to the rule of law above all. His steady leadership has certainly contributed to Alabama’s pro-business environment and for that, we are proud to give him our full endorsement.”

Marshall said he was “honored” to receive the endorsement.

“I’m honored to receive the endorsement of Manufacture Alabama,” said Marshall. “As Attorney General, I stand with organizations like Manufacture Alabama opposing the excessive actions of a federal bureaucracy that stifle job creation and place unnecessary burdens on large and small businesses in Alabama.  I look forward to continuing this fight on behalf of the employers, employees, and consumers of Alabama.”
