Wednesday, Republican U.S. Senate candidate Mike Durant released his campaign’s latest ad lambasting President Joe Biden on the issue of illegal immigration.
In the 30-second spot, Durant uses language mirroring that of then-presidential candidate Donald Trump during his 2015 campaign announcement speech taking aim at open border policies. The ad also features clips of an unintelligible Biden.
“President Trump made it clear on day one: They’re bringing drugs, they’re bringing crime. And we stop it all by building the wall,” says Durant in the ad. “But Joe Biden speaks a different language. Open borders, tax dollars for illegals, violent gangs. Here’s some plain English: Joe Biden is a failure. He’s embarrassing our country and I’m going to stop him because the career politicians won’t.”

Durant in a statement asserted that Trump was correct in his assessment of illegal immigration and maintained that Biden’s “open border policy” had “allowed drugs and criminals to pour into our country.”
He added, “[W]e need outsiders to go to Washington and put an end to this madness. Biden is embarrassing our country and I’m going to stop him because the career politicians won’t.”
