Donald Trump endorses U.S. Rep. Gary Palmer’s reelection bid

Tuesday, former President Donald Trump announced he was endorsing U.S. Rep. Gary Palmer (R-Hoover), the chairman of the House Republican Policy Committee, in Palmer’s bid for reelection this year.

Trump touted Palmer’s policy position on several fronts in his endorsement announcement.

“Congressman Gary Palmer is doing tremendous work for the Great State of Alabama!” Trump said in a release on Tuesday. “A strong advocate of our America First agenda, Gary is fighting for Energy Independence, Secure Borders, Lower Taxes, better care for our Military and Vets, and to protect and defend our Second Amendment. Gary Palmer has my Complete and Total Endorsement!”

Palmer, who was first elected to Congress in 2014 after the retirement of 11-term incumbent Spencer Bachus, is currently running unopposed in the sixth congressional district Republican primary.
