Club for Growth Action, the federal super PAC associated with the Washington, D.C.- based Club for Growth, will resume running a television advertisement that initially aired during the Iron Bowl opposing U.S. Rep. Bradley Byrne’s (R-Fairhope) bid for the U.S. Senate.

According to Club for Growth Action, the ad will highlight Byrne’s “record of sending American tax dollars overseas and his support of special interests as he runs in the Alabama Senate Republican primary.”

The ad, “Foreign,” will run in the Birmingham and Huntsville markets on broadcast networks and Fox News for two weeks beginning January 30.

“Bradley Byrne is a big-spending Republican who works for special interests instead of what’s good for Alabama voters,” Club for Growth Action President David McIntosh said in a statement offered to Yellowhammer News. “Alabama needs a real conservative in the Senate who will support President Trump and his agenda, and that’s not Byrne but it could be someone like Tommy Tuberville.”

Club for Growth PAC has not formally backed a candidate in the race, but a Club for Growth PAC official indicated the group is taking a closer look at Auburn head football coach Tommy Tuberville. In the past, Club for Growth has been an outspoken supporter of former U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
