On Tuesday, Club for Growth Action, the federal super PAC associated with the Washington, D.C.- based Club for Growth, unveiled its latest television spot touting the congressional candidacy of former State Sen. Bill Hightower (R-Mobile).

Hightower is running for Congress in Alabama’s First Congressional District, which is currently occupied by U.S. Rep. Bradley Byrne (R-Fairhope), who will be vacating his seat at the end of this term given he is a candidate for U.S. Senate.

The 30-second spot touts Hightower and his support for President Trump, term limits and lower taxes.

“President Trump needs fighters in Congress to help drain the swamp,” the narrator in the ad says. “He needs Bill Hightower. Bill Hightower is not a typical politician. Hightower supports Trump’s push for term limits, to finally get rid of the deadwood in Congress. In Montgomery, Hightower opposed and refused a pay hike for legislators. In Washington, he’ll fight the Deep State bureaucracy. Conservative Republican Bill Hightower — for Trump, for Congress.”

Hightower faces Mobile County Commissioner Jerry Carl, U.S. Army veteran John Castorani, Mobile restauranteur Wes Lambert and State Rep. Chris Pringle (R-Mobile) in his bid for the Republican congressional nomination.
