Auburn University has reported that it has set a new school record for first year student applicants for a single semester. The university said that for the Fall of 2024 over 55,000 first year students have applied. The new number represents a 14% increase from 2023's applicant numbers.

The University of South Alabama now has a new Vice President of Governmental Relations, the school said Monday. Nick Lawkis, the office's executive director since 2019,  has been selected by school leadership to take over the role.
