Three Alabama cities are among the most stressed in the entire country, according to a recent study by WalletHub.

The study ranks Birmingham 4th, Montgomery 19th, and Mobile 23rd in its list of 182 cities considered for their respective stress levels.

Looking at the four key areas of work stress, financial stress, family stress, and health & safety stress, WalletHub determined its rankings, which found Detroit, Michigan, to be the nation’s most stressed city.

Within those four key areas, researchers looked at things like average weekly work hours, job security, commute time, foreclosure and poverty rates, divorce rate and the share of obese residents.

Birmingham residents have the nation’s fifth lowest median credit score and third highest divorce rate. They also have the fourth lowest average hours of sleep per night.

Huntsville ranked 135 in the list.
