According to a new WalletHub study, a handful of Alabama’s most vital cities are also some of the “most sinful” ones.

In the study, WalletHub compared more than 180 U.S. cities across 37 “key indicators of evil deeds.”

Mobile, located at the southern tip of Alabama, ranked in the top 50 of the list, coming at number 44 on the most sinful cities list. Birmingham, while trailing Mobile closely, was listed at number 54.

On the ranking of “Anger & Hatred,” Mobile came in at 44, while Birmingham ranked 27. When ranked on “jealousy,” both Mobile and Birmingham fell within the top 50 at 41 and 48, respectively.

Other major Alabama cities included on the list are Montgomery, ranked at 90, and Huntsville ranked at 109.

WalletHub’s data reviewed violent crimes per capita to excessive drinking to adult entertainment establishments per capita in order to determine the specific rank of each city.

Topping the list of most sinful cities in America was Las Vegas, NV, followed closely by Los Angeles, CA, and New York, NY, respectively.
