Presently, the State of Alabama is involved in three lawsuits challenging three of the Biden administration’s COVID-19 vaccine mandates.
In two of those three cases, the state under Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall has achieved stays that have blocked the enforcement against two of the mandates. And according to the AG’s office, a decision on the third is anticipated very soon.
During an appearance on Mobile radio FM Talk 106.5’s “The Jeff Poor Show,” Marshall called the developments “very positive momentum” and laid out the aspects of the three different lawsuits.
“Very positive momentum that we’ve gotten on every one of the cases that we’ve been a part of with two, I think, significant victories,” he said. “The first came involving the private employer mandate with the ruling that came out of the Fifth Circuit right now remains in place that we have a nationwide injunction that has prohibited the Biden administration from enforcing that rule involving employers over 100. Then we were able to get a second victory in one of the cases we were involved with multiple states out of the district court in Louisiana, where there is a nationwide injunction on the health care worker mandate. And then on Friday, had the argument in the case Alabama has with multiple states filed in the Southern District of Georgia, where we’ve asked for the federal contractor mandate to be enjoined.”
“We saw a victory come out of the state of Kentucky last week where a federal judge considered arguments very similar to what we made to a judge in Georgia last week and believe that the Biden administration clearly overstepped their authority,” Marshall continued. “Not only were there very strict violations of federal law, but also the Constitution. And so, we’re very confident about what we believe the Georgia judge will do, and that will allow us at least for right now to be able to have status quo on all three of these particular matters so that the Biden administration can’t continue to enforce their January 4 deadline.”
