Yellowhammer caught up with Molly Kluck, a 15 year old Alabamian who made the treck down to Florida to campaign for Mitt Romney. Young conservatives across the U.S. have been engaged at unprecedented levels this election cycle.

Young Alabamians traveled to Florida with Generation Joshua, a youth movement affiliated with the Home School Legal Defense Association. Molly Kluck is third from the right.

Yellowhammer: Why did you feel it was important for you to get involved in the presidential race?

Molly: I got involved in the presidential race because I feel that I should do my part to protect the future of my family and friends. Supporting Romney and Ryan is, I believe, the best way to do that.

Yellowhammer: Why do you think your generation should support Romney and Ryan?

Molly: Each new generation has influence over what affects our future and the future of generations that will come after us. Because of this, we as a generation should be supporting what will give is the most freedom.

Yellowhammer: Have you worked on any political campaigns before?

Molly: Yes. I worked on the ’08 campaign for Ron Paul, and I’ve volunteered for several state wide elections, including Tim James for Governor, Robert Bentley for Governor and Luther Strange for Attorney General. I also helped phone bank for Jefferson County candidates in 2010.

Yellowhammer: What was the best part about your involvement in this campaign?

Molly: Learning to deal with people who see things differently than I do.

Yellowhammer: Do you think you’ll remain involved in politics? If so, in what way?

Molly: Yes. I’m planning on always being an informed voter and a part of the teams that inform other people about voting.
