The billboard king, Birmingham-based attorney Alexander Shunnarah, for the first time ever is inviting the public to design a new look for his empire of billboard advertisements across Alabama and surrounding states.

Shunnarah’s award-winning law firm on Thursday will officially launch the “Design An Alexander Shunnarah Billboard” contest, allowing members of the community to craft their own spin on his iconic billboards.

Submissions are due by September 30, and contestants will be challenged to use their creativity and skill to design a “Shunnarah-worthy” concept, good enough to plaster on billboards across the state.

According to a release, the contest winner will receive a $500 Visa gift card, and if their billboard is ultimately approved by the firm, they will have the chance to see their design used across the firm’s billboard footprint. Additionally, a second-place winner will receive a $300 Visa gift card and an Alexander Shunnarah “Swag Pack,” while a third-place winner will receive a $150 gift card.

Shunnarah said, “We want to hear from designers, artists and fans; designs don’t have to be done digitally if someone wants to send in a drawing, we’d love to see that too.”

“We’re excited to see the people’s creativity. We are looking for a billboard design that’s bold, impactful, easy for drivers to read and unique,” he added.

All billboard designs must stay within brand guidelines and include:

· The firm’s logo
