Yellowhammer Multimedia on Monday announced the launch of the Yellowhammer News Radio Network, once again adding to the company’s burgeoning stable of multi-platform content brands.

Upon launch, Yellowhammer will provide top and bottom of the hour news for numerous radio stations across Alabama, with plans for further growth. The network will be anchored by experienced radio talent Kevin Self and Sherry St. John-Clark.

“Yellowhammer is already Alabama’s most trusted news brand. We are excited to bring that credibility into the terrestrial radio space,” said Yellowhammer Multimedia Chief Operating Officer Ryan Boggus. “Our rapid growth is a direct result of our commitment to delivering the most current and relevant news to our readers and listeners. We will continue doing that in partnership with radio stations who share our dedication to excellence.”

The news network is Yellowhammer Multimedia’s second foray into terrestrial radio. Yellowhammer Radio with Cliff Sims, a two-hour daily talk program hosted by the company’s founder and CEO, launched in March and currently airs across central and north Alabama.

Among the stations that will carry Yellowhammer’s new radio product is Superstation 101 WYDE, the flagship station for Yellowhammer Radio with Cliff Sims.

“We are proud to bring the Yellowhammer News Radio Network to our listeners from Birmingham to Huntsville and everywhere in between,” said WYDE station manager Leland Whaley. “Live and local is the future of talk radio and Yellowhammer gives us both national and state news from reporters based in Alabama. The breaking news gathering capability of Yellowhammer combined with our 100,000 watt FM signal will be very powerful for our listeners. This is new, digital media meets the traditional power of radio. Together we will serve Alabamians with the local dedication they deserve.”
