What if SEC stadiums expanded to a 1,000,000+ capacity?

The population of Tuscaloosa, Alabama is a little over 100,000, which conveniently, is roughly what Bryant-Denny Stadium fits currently. But imagine for a second that the Crimson Tide could fit 10x that and 20% of the entire state population of 5 million+ in the stadium.

Circling social media over the past week has been AI generated images of various SEC stadiums if the capacity was expanded to a million seats, and these are the results:

Just imagine the possibilities here. A million people packed into Bryant-Denny Stadium for the Third Saturday in October.

Tennessee checker-boarding Neyland Stadium for a massive game not with 101,000, but with over 1,000,000.

Georgia celebrating back-to-back national championships in front of a record capacity crowd…of over a million people.

Home-field advantage would take on a new meaning. Football would be a different game entirely. Stadiums would become large-scale cities.

Sure, parking and traffic would probably be a nightmare and the “nosebleed” seats may take on a literal meaning.

But hey, at least tickets would be more affordable.
