BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Football is the ultimate team sport, and the success of the team depends on everyone working together. So far, the Samford Bulldogs are working together quite well. The team has gotten off to an impressive 5-1 start and beat VMI 55-21 on Saturday.

But this weekend, the Bulldogs were not just working together to score touchdowns; they also helped their teammate pull off an epic marriage proposal. Deion Pierre, a Samford linebacker who had a pick-six in Saturday’s game, proposed to his girlfriend Jasmine Henderson while his teammates danced to Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” which played over the loudspeaker.

Pierre’s teammates came through, and they danced enthusiastically around the football field carrying white roses. Of course, Henderson said yes.
