Watch: Kalen DeBoer’s daughter hits first career softball home run…against Alabama

When the Alabama Crimson Tide hired Kalen DeBoer to be their next head coach, the former Washington Huskies coach’s life and family were obviously uprooted with a move to Alabama.

In a decision that couldn’t have been easy, DeBoer’s eldest daughter Alexis elected to stay in the Pacific Northwest, having committed already to play for the Washington softball team.

As one of the top prospects in the country for her class following a stellar high school career, Alexis had the ability to play at numerous places but honored her Huskies pledge.

In a twist of fate which is outright hilarious, she hit the first home run of her career last weekend, and that long ball just so happened to come against the Alabama Crimson Tide during a road trip for the team out West to Arizona for the Candrea Classic tournament:

The first inning three-run moonshot by DeBoer would help push Washington to a 7-3 victory over Alabama, their second in two days.

Through only five games this season, DeBoer has hit five home runs with a .313 batting average and just two strikeouts.

Seemingly on her way to a stellar softball career, the Tide will certainly hopes they don’t have to face her again.
