Former State Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) released his first campaign ad of the 2020 election cycle Tuesday. Moore is running to succeed retiring U.S. Rep. Martha Roby (R-Montgomery) in Alabama’s Second Congressional District.

In the ad, Moore touts his 2015 endorsement of Donald Trump at a rally in Mobile which he claims made him the first elected official in the nation to throw his support behind Donald Trump.

Moore has made his early and steadfast support of Trump the centerpiece of his campaign.

The 30-second spot also mentions Moore’s service in the armed forces, and his conservative voting record during his two terms (2010-2018) in the statehouse.

“Ultimately this race will come down to whether the voters believe what my opponents say they’ll do, as opposed to what I’ve already done.  Alabama voters believe that actions speak louder than words, and I stand by my actions as a conservative and long-time Trump supporter,” Moore announced in a press release.

The ad will be airing on cable TV across the district. It will go up on December 11 or 12 on most cable systems in District 2 and will run until the evening of Dec. 21.

Moore’s campaign also told Yellowhammer that they are going to give the commercial a heavy push on social media and have it converted for use on the radio.

Moore’s opponents for the AL-02 Republican nomination are former Alabama Attorney General Troy King, Dothan businessman Jeff Coleman and Prattville businesswoman Jessica Taylor.
