Actor and comedian Neil Patrick Harris, widely known for his role as the good-natured womanizer Barney on CBS’s How I Met Your Mother, is back with a new show this Fall. Harris kicked off his debut episode dressed as University of Alabama mascot, Big Al, entertaining Bama fans during the season opener against Wisconsin in Dallas, TX.

Harris now hosts NBC’s “Best Time Ever“, an American variety show that has the actor do anything from disguising himself as an Austrian TV host to comedy skits, mini game shows, and hidden camera pranks.

During Tuesday night’s premiere, Harris invited a newlywed couple from Tuscaloosa on stage where he proceeded to ask them questions about their wedding, a recent visit to New York City, and attending the Alabama vs. Wisconsin game in Dallas. Their answers of course did not surprise Harris because he in fact been there photo-bombing wedding photos, disguising himself as a bellhop, and parading around as Big Al.

Harris’ Big Al walked around AT&T Stadium and eventually made his way up to the unsuspecting couple from Tuscaloosa, Terisha and Oronde Hamilton, posing for a classic Big Al photo with the two.

Big Al appeared on stage for the first episode, as well, waving the “Best Time Ever” flag in style. The show’s energy was the perfect place for the beloved Crimson Tide mascot to represent the University of Alabama. After the couples puzzled looks and laughter Harris gave them a prize vacation to Antigua staying at a world class luxury resort.

“Best Time Ever” can be watched on NBC Tuesdays at 10/9c.
