WARNING: Cop Impersonator Pulls Over Vehicle, Sexually Assaults Occupant

According to the Montgomery Police Department and WSFA, a suspect impersonating a police officer pulled over a vehicle and sexually assaulted the occupant during the night Tuesday.

According to MPD, a non-police vehicle pulled over a car on I-65 near Edgemont Avenue around 7 p.m. The suspect then sexually assaulted the occupant of the vehicle and fled. The suspect was a male, but that is the only description available to police.

The suspect’s vehicle was described as a dark colored sedan equipped with a flashing blue light. Police are currently searching for the vehicle. If you have any information, officials encourage you to call CrimeStoppers at 215-STOP, Secret Witness at 625-4000, or the Montgomery Police Department at 625-2831.

Police officials encourage residents to remember that if you are ever being pulled over and don’t feel safe, you should turn on your hazards, slow down, and wait to pull over in a well-lit public place. You can also call law enforcement to verify that a police officer is actually pulling you over.
