(Video) American Pharoah won the Preakness, Cam Newton was busy winning hearts

When a torrential downpour hit Pimlico Race Course shortly before this past weekend’s Preakness Stakes, it left race attendees scrambling for cover and turned the 145-year-old dirt track into an ocean of mud.

Former Auburn football standout and current Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton was on hand for the race, donning a red sport coat, bow tie and white pants for the occasion. But his high-end fashion choices didn’t stop him from scooping a lady into his arms to help her avoid the mud.

American Pharoah won the race. Cam was busy winning hearts.
