Collier Tynes, an aide to Alabama First Lady Dianne Bentley, had no idea why she was being called onto the Senate floor on Tuesday, but she was in for the surprise of her life.

Unbeknownst to her, State Sen. Clay Scofield (R-Arab) had carefully orchestrated a proposal like none other, complete with the Lt. Gov. declaring “She said yes!” as her family, the First Lady and the entire Senate applauded.
