(Video) Alabama couple reveals baby’s gender in Signing Day-inspired press conference

The first Wednesday of February is an unofficial holiday for college football fans around the U.S., especially in SEC country. It’s National Signing Day, the first day that college football recruits can sign a National Letter of Intent to play for their school of choice.

Over the years, highly coveted recruits have come up with countless ways to announce their signings, but the tried-and-true mainstay starts with putting the hats of two or more schools on a table with a microphone. The recruit comes in, often surrounded by friends and family, sits down at the table, says says a few words, then makes the big reveal by picking up the hat that coincides with his school of choice and placing it on his head.

*Crowd goes wild.*

As Birmingham, Alabama residents, the Nobles are well versed in this yearly tradition. So when it came time to reveal the gender of their soon-to-be born second child, it was only natural for them to break out the blue hat for “Boy Tech” and the pink for “Girl State.”

Watch how it all went down in the video below. (Can’t see the video? Click here.)
