University of Oregon mascot ‘Puddles’ spoofs Alabama sorority recruitment video

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — It’s only been a few weeks since the Alpha Phi recruitment video went viral, but a new university recruitment video is currently sweeping the Internet. This time, the Oregon Ducks are poking fun at Alabama with their own parody video, featuring their mascot Puddles.

Earlier this month, the Alpha Phi sorority chapter at University of Alabama’s recruitment video garnered national attention for what some commentators alleged was too objectifying of the young women. Now, Oregon has successfully (and hilariously) created a spoof of the video that is already earning headlines of its own.

The now infamous Alabama sorority recruitment video portrayed its members laughing, dancing, and frolicking around their sorority house, campus, a lake and even Bryant Denny Stadium. In Oregon’s video, The Duck also romps around campus, throws glitter, shakes his tail and blows kisses to the camera. By looking into the camera and waving the audience in, he is encouraging his friends to join him in his adventures at the school’s football stadium.

The message of the Oregon’s Autzen Stadium recruitment video is simple: “pledge your allegiance to best house at Oregon.”

The college football season starts a week from Thursday.
