U.S. Senate passes resolution sponsored by Shelby, Tuberville honoring Hank Aaron

The U.S. Senate on Wednesday approved a resolution honoring the life and legacy of baseball legend and Mobile native Hank Aaron.

The measure was introduced last week by U.S. Senators Richard Shelby (R-AL), Tommy Tuberville (R-AL), Raphael Warnock (D-GA) and Jon Ossoff (D-GA) following Aaron’s death at age 86.

“Hammerin’ Hank Aaron made enormous contributions to the game of baseball both on and off the field,” said Tuberville.

“In addition to having one of the most accomplished careers in baseball, Aaron was a civil rights icon and worked tirelessly in his community and across the country to improve the lives of others,” he continued. “Aaron made his home state of Alabama, the city of Mobile, and the United States of America proud, and I’m grateful to my colleagues for joining us in honoring the incredible legacy of this great American.”
