Tuscaloosa clerk attempting to stop thieves now hospitalized

An Alabama gas station clerk suffered life-threatening injuries while being dragged by a car as she tried to stop a theft.

Alabama news outlets report that it happened Sunday in Tuscaloosa.Police said the clerk reported two men had stolen three cases of beer from the store.

When the woman tried to grab the beer back from the men, they drove off in a car and dragged her in the parking lot.

She suffered a serious head injury and was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center for treatment.

One man has been arrested and another is being sought in the case.
