Tuberville: ‘American taxpayers should not be forced to pay the price for Joe Biden’s CORRUPT DOJ’

U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) doesn’t think American taxpayers should be footing the bill to hold former members of the Biden Department of Justice accountable.

The FBI revealed last month that during the Biden administration, Special Prosecutor Jack Smith’s team tracked the private communications and call records of nearly a dozen GOP lawmakers, including Tuberville.

At the last minute, language was added in the continuing resolution to open up the federal government that allows Tuberville and the other senators involved to be able to sue the federal government. The U.S. House of Representatives unanimously repealed that provision Wednesday.

Tuberville seems to support the repeal, arguing on X Thursday that there are better ways to punish those involved in the spying scheme.

“American taxpayers should not be forced to pay the price for Joe Biden’s CORRUPT DOJ,” Tuberville said. “Not a SINGLE taxpayer dollar should go towards paying for “damages” or “legal fees” incurred by Senators who were spied on by the Biden administration. If anyone wants to sue, they should foot the bill.”

The senator also said he is more concerned about impeaching the judge who approved the spying on him and other senators.

“I am focused on getting Judge Boasberg IMPEACHED and getting Jack Smith DISBARRED and thrown in prison,” Tuberville added.

Tuberville joined U.S. Senator Eric Schmitt (R-Mo.) in writing a letter to D.C. Circuit Chief Judge Sri Srinivasan calling for the administrative suspension of Chief Judge James Boasberg while Congress considers Articles of Impeachment for abusing his judicial authority to target the Trump administration, sitting Republican Senators, and conservative organizations.

It is not clear as of yet if the U.S. Senate will take up the repeal.
