Tide rises, Tigers fall in latest AP Poll

The Associated Press released its latest edition of the men’s college basketball AP Top 25 on Monday afternoon after a huge weekend in the sport, with both teams in the Yellowhammer State making moves on the chart.

Alabama, who was off during the week, but put up major points against a solid Texas A&M team on Saturday afternoon — rose two spots from No. 15 to No. 13.

Auburn had a more mixed week. First was a matchup against previously No. 11 ranked South Carolina, who the Tigers absolutely manhandled by 40 points.

However, Auburn would lose its first home game of the season over the weekend when Kentucky came to town. The loss was offset a bit by the huge win though, and Auburn only dropped one spot from No. 13 to No. 14.

Auburn will be off on Wednesday this week, but will hit the road for a big road matchup against the Georgia Bulldogs this Saturday at 5 P.M. CST on SEC Network.

Alabama, meanwhile, has one of its toughest weeks yet. The Tide will host freshly ranked No. 24 Florida on Wednesday evening before one of its most brutal tests yet, a road game at Rupp Arena against the red hot Kentucky Wildcats.
