U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) is not backing away from his recent comments of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
The senator and gubernatorial candidate received some backlash after reposting an image on X that compared Mamdani to the terrorists on September 11, 2001.
https://x.com/SenTuberville/status/2032087973810901496
Mamdani responded to Tuberville’s comments, saying, “Let there be as much outrage from politicians in Washington when kids go hungry as there is when I break bread with New Yorkers.”
Tuberville was once again asked about the comments during a call with reporters Thursday.
“[W]hen the mayor of New York City does not put his hand on the Bible and and take the oath to go by our Constitution and uses Quran, which teaches Death to America,” Tuberville said. “That’s a pretty simple explanation for me.”
Tuberville said his comments are not directed at all Muslims, just those that promote Sharia Law and the Quran.
“Well, yeah, I’ll meet with anybody. It doesn’t make any difference to me. I have friends in Alabama that are Muslim, but they don’t preach, teach Sharia law, nor do they study the Quran, because the Sharia law and the Quran are totally opposite of what this country is about,” Tuberville said. “I mean, that’s a pretty easy observation there.”
Late last year, the senator filed a two bill package on the issue: The No Sharia Act and the Preserving a Sharia-Free America Act.
“So no, I’ll, I’ll visit and talk with anybody,” he added. “I love all people. I don’t care if you’re Muslim or Christian or Catholic or Jewish, it makes to me no difference, but do not study and teach and preach and indoctrinate people in something that wants to, wants to have Death to all Americans, and that’s what it teaches. ”
While some have criticized the senator’s stance by claiming it’s an attack on religious freedom, Tuberville said he believes he’s protecting Americans.
“They say, ‘Well, you’re against freedom of religion.’ No, I’m not,” he argued. “Sharia Law and the Quran preaches no freedom of religion, because if you don’t believe in the Quran and Sharia Law, you believe in you should be killed. That’s what Sharia Law and the Quran teaches. So, you know, they kind of speak out of both sides of their mouth, but at the end of the day, these people that preach this Quran and and Sharia Law, they have taken over Europe and almost destroyed it. We’re not allowing that to happen in Alabama or the United States of America.”
Tuberville said he will continue to speak out on the issue despite the pushback.
“Now it’s time to speak up and understand the problem,” he said, “because we have a huge problem here with the growth of a lot of these, a lot of this situation, and I’ll continue to talk out and speak about it on the Senate floor, on TV, on the radio, and the people in Alabama and people across the country.”

It appears that President Donald Trump has in one way or another convinced one of the candidates for U.S. Senate to drop out of the race.
Former Trump official and U.S. Sen Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) staffer Morgan Murphy announced Tuesday that he’s no longer running for the position. Murphy said he plans to run for U.S House instead and is endorsing U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) for the Senate seat.
“[Y]ou may have seen President Trump has endorsed my opponent, Congressman Barry Moore,” Murphy said in a video posted on X. “President Trump is the leader of our party, and he sacrificed more than anyone to make America great again. He deserves the senator he wants in Washington, DC. Barry Moore has a strong conservative track record and has earned President Trump’s support.”
https://x.com/MorganwwMurphy/status/2031138680425873466
According to the latest poll by Remington Research Group on the contest, Moore currently leads the field with 22%, followed by Marshall at 16% and former U.S. Navy Seal Jared Hudson at 12%. Nearly half of Republican voters, 47%, remain undecided.
“Republicans don’t need to waste time or money fighting one another, I want to be a good steward of the trust you’ve placed in me and my campaign,” Murphy continued. “So today, I’m announcing that I’m bowing out of the U.S. Senate race and endorsing representative Barry Moore.”
Moore responded to the endorsement and said he appreciates the support.
”I’m grateful to receive the endorsement of fellow veteran and Senate candidate Morgan Murphy,” Moore said. “Morgan has served our country with honor and brings valuable in and public service. His support means a great deal, and together we will keep fighting for Alabama and the America First agenda.”
Murphy’s campaign announced last month that they raised $1,057,949. The candidate now is going to use those dollars to win a seat in the House.
“But I’m not done fighting instead, I’m redirecting every dollar that you’ve donated not to attack fellow Republicans, but to flip a Blue House seat right here in ruby red Alabama,” he explained. “The United States cannot afford to lose the house and spend the next two years of President Trump’s administration battling radicals on the left who care more about nursing their Trump derangement syndrome than they do about the country or our state.”
Murphy didn’t specify if he’s running against U.S. Reps. Terri Sewell (D-Birmingham) or Shomari Figures (D-Mobile).
“I’m staying in the fight for you, for Alabama and for the America first priorities I hold so dear,” he said. “I hope you’ll join me as we work to keep the house in conservative hands and continue making America great again.”

Members of Alabama’s Republican Congressional delegation are praising the accomplishments of President Donald Trump ahead of his first State of the Union address in his second term.
According to the White House, Trump will tout his administration’s accomplishments while also celebrating the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
“In one year, President Trump has turned our country around from the brink of disaster, and he will rightly declare the State of Our Union is strong, prosperous and respected,” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said. “The president will proudly tout his administration’s many record-breaking accomplishments, and also layout an ambitious agenda to continue bringing the American Dream back for working people.”
U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) said Trump has “already delivered huge wins for hardworking American families.”

U.S. Sens. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) and Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) think the U.S. Supreme Court got it wrong in their recent decision on President Donald Trump’s tariffs.
The court ruled 6-3 against Trump’s sweeping tariffs on most countries, finding that he lacked authority to do so under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act.
“Based on two words separated by 16 others in . . . IEEPA,” Chief Justice John Roberts said in the majority opinion, “‘regulate’ and ‘importation’ — the President asserts the independent power to impose tariffs on imports from any country, of any product, at any rate, for any amount of time. Those words cannot bear such weight.”
Trump called the ruling a “disgrace.”
“I’m ashamed of certain members of the court, absolutely ashamed, for not having the courage to do what’s right for our country,” he said. “In actuality, I was very modest in my ask of other countries and businesses because… I wanted to be very well-behaved.”
Tuberville, who is also a candidate to be Alabama’s next Governor, said the decision goes against the will of the American people.
“I’m disappointed by the Supreme Court’s decision to handcuff the President’s ability to impose tariffs on countries who have been ripping us off for years,” Tuberville said. “77 million Americans voted for President Trump because they knew he would negotiate fair trade deals and put American jobs and businesses first. The President has a phenomenal economic team, and I know they won’t go down without a fight.”
Britt not only didn’t like the ruling, but argued in favor of the President’s overall trade policy.
“What the media won’t tell you is that President Trump’s tariffs work, and that’s why even the Biden Administration left them in place,” Britt said. “Today’s ruling was disappointing, but as [the President] made clear, we are not going to return to the status quo of allowing American jobs and manufacturing to be sidelined in exchange for cheap junk from foreign adversaries. I will continue working with President Trump and his team to bring manufacturing back home.”
https://x.com/SenKatieBritt/status/2024986375855247732
The President made it clear Friday that many of the tariffs will be reinstituted under a different authority.
“Other alternatives will now be used to replace the ones that the court incorrectly rejected,” he said. “We have alternatives. Great alternatives. Could be more money. We’ll take in more money, and we’ll be a lot stronger for it. We’re taking in hundreds of billions of dollars. We’ll continue to do so.”

U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) isn’t mincing words when it comes to his criticism of U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and some of her recent comments at the Munich Security Conference.
It has been widely speculated that Ocasio-Cortez is attempting to burnish her foreign policy credentials before potentially running for President in 2028.
During one of the panel discussions, the congresswoman claimed that the Trump administration is a “grave threat” to the “rules based order.”
“I think this is a moment where we are seeing our presidential administration tear apart the transatlantic partnership, rip up every Democratic norm, and, you know, really calling into question, as was mentioned by by Dick Carney at the World Economic Forum, the rules based order that we have,” Ocasio-Cortez said.
Tuberville made it clear that lawmakers shouldn’t being going overseas to slam on the President in such a manner.
“It’s embarrassing to see representatives of the US government going overseas and bashing this country,” Tuberville wrote on X. “If you hate it so much here, you can leave.”
https://x.com/CoachForGov/status/2023467897503576511
President Donald Trump also criticized her comments at the conference.
“I watched AOC answering questions in Munich – this was not a good look for the United States,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One.

Former Navy Seal and current candidate for U.S. Senate in 2026, Jared Hudson is calling on the upper chamber to force those who want to filibuster a bill to actually have to “stand on the floor and do it.”
U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) and U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) have openly advocated for abolishing the Senate filibuster altogether in order to pass President Donald Trump’s agenda.
Hudson, who is running to replace Tuberville for Alabama’s Senate seat in 2026, told WVNN’s “The Yaffee Program,” that he would prefer just doing away with the “silent filibuster.”
“What I’ve been saying is, hey, we need to abolish the silent filibuster, the zombie filibuster,” Hudson explained. “No more of this Democrat being able to call in and saying, Hey, we’re going to, we’re going to filibuster for this, but not actually having to stand on the floor and do it. They need to earn what it is their filibuster.”
Trump has recently suggested that Republicans need to get rid of the filibuster to pass the SAVE America Act, which would require proof of citizenship in order to register to vote in federal elections.
“Abolish the silent filibuster,” Hudson continued, “so you require them to stand on the floor and tell the American people that they’re elected to represent their state, right? They need to tell their state. They need to let the American people hear why they’re standing with the criminals, as opposed to standing with the American citizen. And right now, federal law enforcement who’s deporting criminal illegal aliens who are criminalizing and running criminal enterprise over the citizens of this nation.”
Hudson said getting rid of the “silent filibuster” would force Democrat to explain why they are supporting law enforcement.
“This guy killed an Alabama citizen, a 73 year old Alabama citizen, and he’s running around right now armed and at large,” he said. “And it’s important that we support law enforcement, because there are men and women who do violence on our behalf, so that we can sleep in peace at night. And if they’re going to be out doing that, then, by golly, you ought to have the dang Democrats, if they’re going to filibuster, they don’t need to make a phone call and say, we’re going to filibuster.”
“They ought to be on the floor telling everybody why they’re standing against it,” he added. “They ought to have to earn it, because there’s somebody out there right now earning their right to be an idiot.”

U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) and U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) are continuing to speak out against the threat of radical Islamism in America.
The lawmakers joined 16 other members of the Sharia-Free America Caucus in holding the group’s first press conference. The lawmakers laid out the case against Sharia Law, stating it’s a culture of violence and domination incompatible with the U.S. Constitution and American values.
“Sharia law targets women, religious minorities and political dissenters,” Moore said. “The principles of Sharia law are fundamentally incompatible with our Constitution’s rights and our legal protections under the law. Due process and freedom of speech. That’s what Sharia law is against.”
https://x.com/RepBarryMoore/status/2018860774291390877?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E2018860774291390877%7Ctwgr%5Eccf94644db690bb64349e644903e3ad322b51446%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2F1819news.com%2Fnews%2Fitem%2Famerica-doesnt-bend-itself-to-radical-ideologies-moore-sharia-free-america-caucus-sound-alarm-on-dangers-of-sharia-law
Moore, who is also a candidate for the U.S. Senate, said this is a proactive measure to uphold American laws and values.
“No foreign or religious legal code should ever influence American courts or create a parallel system of justice,” he argued. “Sharia law must not be allowed to override the Constitution. America doesn’t bend itself to radical ideologies. And we must always protect liberty and the United States of America.”
Tuberville warned that the U.S. could eventually look like Europe, which he argues has been overrun by radical Islamists.
“What’s happened to our brethren overseas in Europe? They’ve lost it,” Tuberville said. “They’ve lost their way of life. And to get it back, [do you know] how they’re gonna have to get it back? They’re going to fight on the streets. They’re going to [have to] take it back if they want to take it back. And I don’t know whether their leadership wants that. But by God, we’re not gonna let that happen in our country. We’re not gonna let it get to that point. We’re gonna recognize it, and we’re gonna fight back before that gets to that point.”
https://x.com/SenTuberville/status/2018703392420380674
Tuberville has introduced two bills to root out the evils of Sharia Law from this country, the No Sharia Act and the Preserving a Sharia Free America Act.
Former U.S. Senator Doug Jones (D-Mountain Brook), who is running to be Alabama’s next governor, is apparently on a warpath against members of the state’s library board who say they are simply protecting children from being exposed to explicit materials.
During an extended livestream this week entitled “Doug Unplugged,” Jones promised to “get rid of a few people” on the Alabama Public Library Service Board.
The board recently voted to continue withholding state funding from the Fairhope Public Library by a 3-2 vote.
They cited the library’s continued refusal to remove sexually explicit materials from children’s sections, despite repeated warnings and opportunities to correct the issue.
Jones thinks the recent APLS decisions are an attack on free speech in the Yellowhammer State.
“Well, I got to tell you, Jennifer, that buck stops and stops and starts with the governor of the state, and it will go down from that, and you will see in my administration that the governor will be a champion of public libraries, a champion of free speech, a champion of making sure libraries are free and have access to a lot of information. You are absolutely right. libraries,” Jones argued on his X livestream. “So like so many of our freedom of Speech rights, freedom of the press rights have been under siege in the last couple of years, particularly in Alabama when it comes to libraries.”
https://x.com/DougJones/status/2018785568868667607
APLS Board Chairman John Wahl and Governor Kay Ivey began working together in 2023 years to make sure libraries remove explicit material from the children’s sections.
Jones said that would all change if he wins the state’s gubernatorial bid this year.
“So the governor can do a couple of things,” Jones explained. “The first thing that I can tell you I would do is I’d get rid of a few people on that that library board, and have some people with some common sense and not some crazy political agenda that we see constantly, and so that they can work with public libraries to make sure that folks have access to information.”
The former senator suggested he has a monopoly on better ideas for how the situation should be handled.
“Look and I understand that there are concerns about some books that are maybe inappropriate for young kids, that’s those can be remedied without removing them,” Jones said.
“Those things can be fixed without trying to ban books and do the kind of things that we’ve seen happening. Those things can be worked on with people to try to do the things that are the right things for that community, and libraries should answer to their communities, no question about that.”
Jones is still a longshot to become the next governor. According to a memo from Cygnal, one of the nation’s top polling firms, Tuberville leads Jones 53% to 34% among likely 2026 general election voters.
Party primary elections will be held on May 19, 2026, and general election, the likely venue of a Tuberville vs. Jones rematch, will be held on November 3, 2026.

U.S. Senators Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) and Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) are lauding the U.S. Department of Justice for arresting former CNN anchor Don Lemon.
Lemon was arrested Friday for his part in a recent protest by left-wing activists during a church service in Minneapolis. The justice department charged Lemon and three others with civil rights crimes for disrupting a worship service.
“Don Lemon knowingly disrupted an active church service, intimidating churchgoers seeking to worship in peace and likely violating the FACE Act,” Britt said Friday on X. “He and the other agitators should be held accountable for this cowardly ambush on people of faith.”
https://x.com/SenKatieBritt/status/2017267599441117469
The FACE Act is a federal law that prohibits the use of force, intimidation, or obstruction to deliberately “injure, intimidate, or interfere” with operations at an abortion facility or an individual’s ability to exercise their right to religious freedom at a place of worship.
Tuberville responded to a comment from Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer on X, saying that Lemon needs to go to jail for his actions.
“What a joke. Democrats weaponized the DOJ to go after a former President on made-up charges, bullied companies into silencing and debanking conservatives, and threw anyone in jail who was even near the Capitol on January 6th,” Tuberville said. “Don Lemon interrupted a church service….violating the congregants’ Constitutional rights to worship freely. He and everyone else involved NEEDS TO GO TO JAIL.”
https://x.com/CoachForGov/status/2017337280189362198
Abbe Lowell, a lawyer for Lemon, called the arrest an attack on the first amendment.
“This unprecedented attack on the first amendment and transparent attempt to distract attention from the many crises facing this administration will not stand,” Lowell said. “Don will fight these charges vigorously and thoroughly in court.”

With the Supreme Court weighing whether states can protect girls’ sports, Alabama is in the fight in a big way.
https://x.com/SenKatieBritt/status/2011140212249051225
The justices heard oral arguments Tuesday in the landmark cases, Little v. Hecox and West Virginia v. B.P.J., that could settle the issue on whether states like Alabama can continue to ban biological males from competing in female sports.
Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall led a coalition of states in filing amicus briefs in support of Idaho and West Virginia in those cases.
“Today we defend the state’s ability to preserve and protect the integrity of female athletics,” Marshall said.
https://x.com/AGSteveMarshall/status/2011047458986688864
Marshall, who is also a candidate for the U.S. Senate, also made the argument in an op-ed for the Washington Post this week.
“That it is impossible to assign sports teams or bathrooms based on such nebulous conceptions is perhaps the point,” Marshall wrote.
“Under this view, there is no such thing as male or female, only the psychology of feeling male or female — or both or neither or a fluctuation of some of each. That may make for an interesting college course, but it has nothing to do with the Constitution. The Supreme Court should finally say so.”
Katherine Robertson, chief counsel for the Alabama Attorney General’s Office, argued Tuesday that Alabama is “proud” to have led the fight on protecting female athletes.
“Alabama was very proud to lead the multi-state amicus brief in this case, because Alabamians have a great deal of common sense, just like the states behind me. And in some ways, I just want to say, ‘We told you so!'”
https://x.com/KGRob27/status/2011059744937480461
Robertson, who is also a candidate to be Alabama’s next attorney general, spoke at a press conference for the Republican Attorneys General Association (RAGA) on Tuesday.
“I know when Alabama debated our law, and many laws on this topic, and we were told that it was a solution, in need, of a problem,” she said.
“But you may remember that this all started at the tail end of the Obama administration, when we were told that sharing private spaces between boys and girls was more about fairness and had nothing to do with public safety.”
U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) has also been a vocal advocate for women in sports. Tuesday, he gave a speech outside the U.S. Supreme Court building before oral arguments began.
“I cannot believe there’s women standing over there. I can’t believe it. Title IX has given people an opportunity. Folks, let me tell you something,” Tuberville exclaimed. “If we don’t make a stand now — as Senator Justice said while ago — if we don’t say it now, this country will go down so fast our heads will swim.”
https://x.com/Moms4Liberty/status/2011125726700061019
Tuberville’s remarks come nearly one year after every Democrat Senator blocked his Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act in the Senate.
A former high school girls’ basketball coach, Tuberville has been a leader in preserving Title IX for female athletes since coming to the Senate five years ago.
“Thank you for being here today. Thank you for fighting,” he continued. “We have to give the women a chance. I’ve got my first grandchild, Rosie Grace. I’ll be damned if she is gonna take a shower with a man.”

U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) was honored to find out that a new auditorium in Dothan will named in honor of his WWII veteran father.
Tuberville, who is also a candidate for Alabama Governor, visited the city Monday, where he attended the groundbreaking of the new auditorium at the Wiregrass Public Safety Center (WPSC) and spoke to the Fort Rucker-Wiregrass chapter of the Association of the United States Army (AUSA).
https://x.com/SenTuberville/status/2010853867508895821
The senator helped secure nearly $8 million for the auditorium at the Wiregrass Public Safety Center in the FY2024 appropriations package.
Yesterday, City of Dothan officials announced that they will be naming the auditorium in honor of Sen. Tuberville’s father and World War II Veteran, Charles R. Tuberville Jr.
“My dad was my hero, and a hero in the military too,” Tuberville said to a group of policy academy candidates in their first day of training.
“For the City of Dothan to name something after him here at the Wiregrass Public Safety Center is a great honor for my family. This place will be here for a long time, and I look forward to supporting continued growth of the Wiregrass Public Safety Center and the region as a whole.”
At the AUSA luncheon, Sen. Tuberville spoke to nearly 600 service members, veterans, and local leaders about his work in Washington, D.C.

U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) says he’s had enough of the crime problems in Montgomery and said will most likely send the National Guard to help clean it up when he becomes Alabama’s next governor.
Earlier this week, Montgomery Mayor Steven Reed’s PAC sent out a mass text message to voters, seeking to fundraise off Tuberville’s previous comments on the issue.
“Tuberville is leaving office,” the text read. “But despite having a rare chance to operate without fear of retribution from the DC political machine, has stayed in line with the people voting to cut our healthcare and unleash chaos in our communities. And his campaign rhetoric isn’t any better—he’s threatened to sic the national guard on Montgomery and has vocally opposed our actions to improve our city.”
Thursday on WVNN’s “The Dale Jackson Show,” Tuberville was asked if he still intends to send the National Guard to Alabama’s capital city.
“100% Dale, they’ve had two shootings the last two nights,” Tuberville said.
“They had somebody killed the night before and four people shot two nights ago. It’s a war zone, and what’s going on there? I mean, again, you got to get these Democrats out there in the streets instead of backing up these criminals fight back against them. I mean, it’s ridiculous.”
The senator said there are many other cities around the country that also need the National Guard.
“100% that the law and order needs to take place,” he said. “We can’t continue like this. But again, we fight it up here. You know, Chuck Schumer said it’s murder. All these, all these people up here are they look at life different, but only because they want to fight back against law and order because they want power. They don’t care nothing about law and order. You know, they want people to sacrifice their own lives. And that’s what happened here.”
The Montgomery Area Crime Suppression (MACS) Unit has helped reduce crime some in the city, but the area has still faced some serious issues, including a recent mass shooting in downtown Montgomery that killed two people and wounded 12 others.

Former Navy Seal and current U.S. Senate candidate Jared Hudson believes President Donald Trump made the right call in ordering the capture of Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro.
Former Venezuela President Maduro and his wife were captured and arrested early Saturday morning after a large scale strike by the U.S. military. They appeared in a Manhattan federal court on Monday.
“I am innocent. I am not guilty. I am a decent man. I am still president of my country,” Maduro told the judge.
Hudson, who is running to replace U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville for Alabama’s Senate seat in 2026, lauded the capture during an appearance on WVNN’s “The Yaffee Program.”
“It’s a show for the whole world to see,” Hudson said. “This is United States of America. You want to play games? We can play games better than you can.”
The former Navy Seal argued that the capture and arrest were necessary for multiple reasons.
“I support it from two ends, because I’m still a law enforcement officer here in the state of Alabama, but one is as Seal, obviously, anytime you get to see a tier one unit, you know, I mean the best in the business, Delta and Rangers go in with FBI, HRT and some of their DEA counterparts to capture an international criminal,” he said. “And somebody who, even during the Biden administration, was had a bounty on his head like it was. It’s not like this is something that Trump just drummed up in his new this is something that’s been going on for multiple administrations. And Trump just said, ‘Hey, we’re going to do it to go in and snatch that dude out of his bed in the middle of night.’ I mean, that is huge.”
“We bagged a narco, commie dictator out of his bed, flew him to New York to face justice for flooding what drugs and and and and even people in our streets, illegal immigrants, you know, trafficking people and drugs across the border,” he added.
Hudson also hit back against some in the Democratic Party who are coming out against Trump’s actions.
“We got a bunch of Democrats that are screaming about imperialism, but we know what they want to do,” he said. “They want to dump billions of our taxpayer dollars into NGOs that fund things like trans-musicals in Caracas or, you know, whatever else is going on. So I just really like the fact that Trump put America first. This is truly protecting American citizens, and he did it in a very effective, efficient and mitigated a lot of risk sort of way.”
The Senate candidate said this operation was ultimately about protecting Americans.
“We see the purpose of this,: he explained. “It’s protecting the American people, it’s helping people that don’t want to be ruled by a tyrant. All the same folks that are screaming ‘no kings’ and the no kings protests are upset that we took out a tyrant, right? And it’s kind of surprising to me, because that’s what I would say, 100% has the authority to do it, and if it wasn’t kept quiet in the way they did, and then made public after it happened, we’re looking at something that’s possibly distinctly different, because we let the bad guys know we were coming. It could mean the cost of American lives.”
“So I think that that is that’s the first thing the President’s trying to uphold, life, American lives and liberty for Americans, but also liberty for those who need to be our partners in our hemisphere and the pursuit of happiness, which is really the ability to to live life and own property in the way that we see fit as Americans,: he continued. “And I think that’s exactly what the president did. He did exactly what his job was, and that’s to protect the United States of America and our interest.”

U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) said Monday that President Donald Trump and the Republican lead Congress are working to help farmers and foresters across the country including the Yellowhammer State.
Tuberville, who sits on the Senate Agriculture Committee, spoke at the annual Alabama Forestry Association Conference about some of the benefits those in the forestry related industries will soon see.
“Now we have 23 million acres of forest in the state, Alabama, 23 million acres, he said. “It makes $36 billion a year. And again, I know about this because y’all come up to remind me of it quite often and appreciate you coming up. It’s big part of our economy, big part. So I hope you’re starting to get a plan. We’re starting to get a plan for you to help you, and everything that you do, from the from the loggers all the way to the sawmills, all the way to getting rid of your wood residual, everything that we can possibly do to make your life better, make more profit.”
Tuberville said the former Biden administration kept getting in the way of helping foresters and farmers in Alabama.
“The problem I have for four years is the Biden administration saying, ‘You know, we really don’t like farmers and forestry. We’d rather get it other countries. We don’t like digging holes or doing anything, or we just love regulations. You know, we just love putting putting people out of business, and they try and they try to put our farmers out.’ We lost 150,000 150,000 farms in the first two years that I was in the Senate, 150,000 don’t tell how many foresters.”
Tuberville explained that farmers will soon see even more benefits because of the passage of the One, Big, Beautiful Bill.
“And President Trump gave me $12 billion not too long ago, and I told him that that’s not enough,” he said. “You we got to do more than or we’re going to lose, continue to lose our farms. You know, we got the in the Big, Beautiful bill. We got the estate tax up to $15 million which hopefully would help a lot of y’all, because we don’t want you to sell your property. Want you to hand it down to your kids. We want you to be able to afford to do that. If you want to sell. That’s mine, but we will make sure that give you an opportunity to do whatever you want with your land. But it’s very important. So the economy in our state, $36 billion that’s a lot of money, and it employs a lot of people, and so here in the next year, we’ll be visible with you.”

U.S. Senators Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) and Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) are lauding the passage of the National Defense Authorization Act for 2026, which made it through the Senate by a bipartisan 77-20.
“The NDAA has passed annually for 65 years in a row and is one of our nation’s most important pieces of legislation. I’m proud to have supported the FY26 NDAA,” Britt said, “which executes on President Trump’s and Senate Republicans’ commitment to strengthen our nation’s military capabilities and warfighter, ensure America remains equipped to meet 21st-centrury threats, and maintain our global military leadership.”
The the $901 billion bill puts in place the next year’s Defense priorities and authorizes spending levels for Defense and national security programs.
The bill cleared the Senate after passing in the House last week with the support of ever member of Alabama’s delegation.
“It will continue historic improvements in the quality of life for our service members and their families,” U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Saks), chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, said. “It will build the ready, capable and lethal fighting force we need to deter China and our other adversaries.”
https://x.com/HASCRepublicans/status/2001807029166358767
Britt and Tuberville both highlighted the victories for Alabama that were included in the package.
“The role that Alabama plays in our national defense is incalculable,” Britt said. “Ensuring our state continues to play a central role in bolstering our warfighter and defense capabilities is pivotal, and I’m proud to have helped deliver continued investment in our state.”
“As Alabama’s voice on the Senate Armed Services Committee, I’m also very proud of the wins included for Alabama’s defense industries and installations,” Tuberville said.
“This includes funding for President Trump’s Golden Dome, much of which will be housed and researched at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville. We also authorized procurement and modernization funding for the MH-139 gray wolf helicopter fleet at Maxwell Air Force Base, and the investments and our ship readiness will be made in Sweet Home, Alabama.”
The legislation addresses readiness concerns at Alabama bases, including the understaffing of gate guards like at Redstone Arsenal by authorizing contract guards to augment existing force protection options at military installations, expedites construction of Space Command’s headquarters in Huntsville, and more.
Tuberville also pointed out the parts of the bill that dismantle to DEI programs in the military that were put in place by former President Joe Biden.
“First and foremost, we were able to secure a pay raise for all of our brave service men and women, and to make some key improvements to military housing,” he explained.
“Second, we cut more than 40 million taxpayer dollars that were funding woke DEI policies in the military and prohibited military resources from being used to censor conservative outlets. The third thing was to protect women’s sports at U.S. service academies.”

State Rep. Phillip Pettus (R-Killen) believes that if you want to get a drivers license in the Yellowhammer State, you should be able to read English.
Pettus has pre-filed a legislation that would require the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) to conduct driver’s license exams only in English. The bill is expected to come up in the 2026 legislative session.
“All of our road signs are in English, people need to be able to read and understand English in order to drive,” Pettus told Alabama Daily News.
The bill includes licenses for private passenger vehicles and commercial driver’s licenses (CDLs).
The issue has garnered attention nationwide in recent weeks after several high profile wrecks were caused by illegal immigrant drivers of commercial vehicles.
“That’s what brought my attention to it,” Pettus explained. “The federal government says they have to be able to understand English, so they ought to be able to read in English.”
Pettus is not the first Alabama official to raise this issue in the state. U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn), who is also a candidate for Alabama Governor in 2026, recently helped introduce the Secure Commercial Driver Licensing Act in the Senate.
Tuberville’s bill that would require all commercial driver’s license (CDL) testing to be conducted in English and strengthen federal oversight of non-domiciled CDLs.
“If you drive a truck in the United States, you should be able to speak English fluently,” Tuberville said. “This protects our law enforcement officers and the general public. This is not only about safety and efficiency – it’s just commonsense.”
ALEA has also been working with the federal government on finding illegal immigrants who shouldn’t be driving commercial vehicles.
Earlier this month ALEA said their Motor Carrier Safety Unit, working with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), has assisted in the detention of 82 individuals identified during Commercial Motor Vehicle inspections since the partnership began just over a month ago.
According to a draft version of the Pettus’ bill, it will mandate all “written, oral, vision, and driving portions of the examination administered for purposes of obtaining or renewing a driver license must be in the English language only,” it says. “An applicant may not use a translation dictionary, an electronic device, or an interpreter to assist with the administration of the examination.”
Pettus is a retired state Trooper who also has experience managing driver’s license offices in the state.

U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) is showing no signs of backing down from his comments about the threats of Radical Islamism, despite some groups labeling him as “Anti-Muslim” and a “bigot.”
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), which labels itself as the largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, added Tuberville to its list of “anti-Muslim extremists in the United States” saying it was “in the wake of his increasingly hateful and dangerous attacks on Alabama Muslims, including his recent targeting of Alabama Muslim K-12 school children.”
The organization recently took issue with the senator’s comments against the Islamic Academy of Alabama wanting to relocate a new school to a busy area in Hoover. The academy has since withdrawn its application.
Tuberville, who is also a candidate for Alabama Governor in 2026, recently introduced to root out the evils of Sharia Law from this country, the No Sharia Act and the Preserving a Sharia Free America Act, which didn’t make CAIR happy.
“Senator Tuberville appears to have looked at footage of George Wallace standing in a schoolhouse door to keep Black students out and decided that was a model worth reviving—this time against Muslims,” CAIR Research and Advocacy Director Corey Saylor said. “His rhetoric belongs to the same shameful chapter of American history, and it will be taught that way.”
Tuberville responded to the designation on X, saying he will never back down on this issue.
“Badge of honor,” Tuberville said. “I will NEVER stop fighting for AMERICANS and our Constitutional values.”
https://x.com/SenTuberville/status/2000612561193185703
While CAIR claims to be civil rights group, states like Texas and Florida have declared them a Foreign Terrorist Organization.
“The Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR have long made their goals clear: to forcibly impose Sharia law and establish Islam’s ‘mastership of the world,’” said Texas Governor Greg Abbott.
“The actions taken by the Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR to support terrorism across the globe and subvert our laws through violence, intimidation, and harassment are unacceptable. Today, I designated the Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR as foreign terrorist organizations and transnational criminal organizations. These radical extremists are not welcome in our state and are now prohibited from acquiring any real property interest in Texas.”

With “defund the police” politics and soft-on-crime ideology still poisoning public safety, Alabama’s U.S. Senators Tommy Tuberville and Katie Britt are rolling out the Back the Blue Act to hit cop-killers and violent attackers with tougher federal penalties.
The bill, cosponsored by Tuberville (R-Auburn), Britt (R-Montgomery), and nearly the totality of Senate GOP members, would increase penalties for criminals who target law enforcement officers and provide new tools for officers to protect themselves.
“Our law enforcement officers put their lives on the line every day when they go into the field to protect us,” Tuberville said. “We have to send a message loud and clear: violence against law enforcement will not be tolerated.”
https://x.com/SenTuberville/status/1997029725487628522
This legislation is endorsed by the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), National Association of Police Organizations (NAPO), Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association (FLEOA), Major County Sheriffs of America (MCSA), National Narcotic Officers’ Associations’ Coalition (NNOAC), Association of State Criminal Investigative Agencies (ASCIA), and the Sergeants Benevolent Association NYPD.
“After years of soft-on-crime policies that have weakened our justice system, it is important that we take a hard stance against any and every targeted attack toward our police officers,” Tuberville continued. “I will always back the blue and work to make sure these men and women are fully equipped with everything they need to keep us safe.”
Specifically, the bill would:
Strengthen laws to protect police officers
- Create a new federal crime for killing, attempting to kill, or conspiring to kill a federal judge, federal law enforcement officer, or federally funded public safety officer. The offender would be subject to the death penalty and a mandatory minimum sentence of 30 years if death results; the offender would otherwise face a minimum sentence of 10 years.
- Create a new federal crime for assaulting a federally funded law enforcement officer with escalating penalties, including mandatory minimums, based on the extent of any injury and the use of a dangerous weapon. However, no prosecution can be commenced absent certification by the Attorney General that prosecution is appropriate.
- Create a new federal crime for interstate flight from justice to avoid prosecution for killing, attempting to kill, or conspiring to kill a federal judge, federal law enforcement officer, or federally funded public safety officer. The offender would be subject to a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years for this offense.
Create a specific aggravating factor for federal death penalty prosecutions
- Clarify that the murder or attempted murder of a law enforcement officer or first responder is a statutory aggravating factor for purposes of the federal death penalty.
Limit federal Habeas relief for murders of law enforcement officers
- Impose time limits and substantive limits on federal courts’ review of challenges to state-court convictions for crimes involving the murder of a public safety officer, when the public safety officer was engaged in the performance of official duties or on account of the performance of official duties. These changes are consistent with the fast-track procedures created in 1996, which are applied to federal death penalty cases.
Limit recovery of certain damages and fees for individuals engaged in felonies
- Limit the type of civil damages and attorney’s fees recoverable by a criminal as a result of purported injuries incurred during the commission of a felony or crime of violence.
Expand self-defense and Second Amendment rights for law enforcement officers
- Allow law enforcement officers, subject to limited regulation, to carry firearms into federal facilities and other jurisdictions where such possession is otherwise prohibited.

Former Democrat U.S. Senator Doug Jones (D-Mountain Brook) is trying to add some energy to his campaign for Governor of Alabama in 2026, despite having a virtually no chance at winning against U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn).
Jones announced his campaign kickoff event, which will be held in Birmingham on December 12. Special musical guests will include Alabama native and Grammy award-winning artist Jason Isbell and DJ Slim, once named as Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin’s wedding planning ‘dream team.’

After much speculation in recent months, Jones quietly filed paperwork with the Alabama Secretary of State’s Office to run for governor in late November.
The election contest is seen as somewhat of a rematch of the 2020 U.S. Senate election in Alabama when Tuberville easily defeated Jones by a 60/40 margin in the November 2020 primary election when Jones was an incumbent Democrat on the ballot.
The evidence suggests that this race won’t be much different.
According to a memo from Cygnal, one of the nation’s top polling firms, Tuberville leads Jones 53% to 34% among likely 2026 general election voters.
“Former U.S. Senator Doug Jones was beat by U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville in the 2020 election, a race that saw one of the largest defeats for a sitting U.S. Senator in recent history. If Jones decides to go on a futile mission in the 2026 gubernatorial election, he will meet a blowout defeat,” Cygnal reports.
Currently, Tuberville has over $6 million in his campaign war chest and no real primary opponents.
Within the Democratic Primary, Jones is going up against Chad “Chig” Martin, Dr. Will Boyd, and JaMel Jermaine Brown.
Party primary elections will be held on May 19, 2026, and general election, the likely venue of a Tuberville vs. Jones rematch, will be held on November 3, 2026.

U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) is defending the Trump administration’s actions against drug boats in the Caribbean.
Since September, President Donald Trump and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth have ordered military strikes against cartel boats shipping drugs to the U.S.
Several Democrats have spoke out against the strikes, suggesting the President needs to get authorization from Congress before conducting such military operations.
Tuberville, who is also a candidate for Alabama Governor in 2026, discussed the issue Wednesday on WVNN’s “The Dale Jackson Show.”
“It’s a mystery to me why elected leaders up here are concerned about these narco-terrorists more than they are American citizens,” Tuberville said. “It’s absolutely amazing. You know, as I said, we’ve lost hundreds, thousands of lives. It’s the number one cause of death in this country to young people. And President Trump ran on, hey, solving this drug problem, and now he’s trying to cut off the drug source.”
Tuberville said he believes the cartels have basically been at war with the United States for years.
“Now, this war that we’ve had with Venezuela and the drugs has not been going on for six months,” he explained.
“It’s been going on for years, and years, we have lost hundreds of 1000s of people because of the drugs coming this country. So it is a war. It’s a war trying to save American lives, and President Trump knows that, and Pete headset knows that, so that’s the reason they’re attacking all these drug boats coming out.”
Tuberville also defended Hegseth after the Washington Post accused him of ordering a second strike against one of the boats. Democrats have used the report to accuse the War Secretary of war crimes.
“The second most attacked person in Washington, DC, behind Donald Trump, is Pete Hegseth,” he argued, “because he’s trying to straighten out the strength of our country, which is the military, you know, and he’s got it back on the right track. But since day one, even Republicans have been after him, and he’s done a great job.”

The current candidates for Alabama’s open U.S. Senate seat in 2026 are probably breathing a little bit easier today as a potential high-profile personality has decided not to throw his hat in the ring.
After months of speculation, longtime college football commentator Paul Finebaum officially announced today that he will NOT seek Alabama’s open U.S. Senate seat in 2026, which is being vacated by U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn), who is running for Governor.
“I have been deeply moved by so many people in Alabama who have reached out encouraging me to run for the United States Senate,” Finebaum told AL(dot)com Tuesday. “It has been a gratifying and rewarding experience.”
The decision leaves Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall, U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise), Morgan Murphy, former U.S. Navy SEAL Jared Hudson, and Rodney Walker as the remaining candidates in the race.
“I am also appreciative of my bosses at ESPN for allowing me to explore this opportunity,” Finebaum added. “But it’s time for me to devote my full attention to something everyone in Alabama can agree upon – our love of college football.”
According to a report from Jewish Insider last month, Finebaum had “given himself a deadline of the first week in December to decide.”
While Finebaum kept his political views under wraps for the majority of his career due to ESPN policy, he revealed to Clay Travis in September he is a registered Republican. No doubt he would have also had strong name ID if he decided to run.
Though, Tuberville recently speculated on the potential candidacy and said Finebaum would have needed more than just name ID to win.
“When I was well known like Paul, people didn’t know my politics … If he does it, he’s got to go tell people why he’s doing it, not just who he is,” Tuberville said. “People already know [he’s got] 100% name ID, but you’ve got to tell people his politics and what he believes in and what he’s going to try to do.”

Some infighting has already ignited within the Alabama Democratic Party this week over who is best candidate to take on U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) in the race to be the next Governor of Alabama.
Candidate Pastor JaMel Jermaine Brown took to Instagram Tuesday to argue that he has a much better shot at winning against Tuberville than former U.S. Senator Doug Jones (D-Mountain Brook).
Jones is entering a crowded field of Democrat contenders, including Brown, Chad “Chig” Martin, Dr. Will Boyd.
Jones quietly filed paperwork with the Alabama Secretary of State’s Office to run for governor earlier this week, and posted his announcement on social media Monday.
Brown thinks Jones should have stayed away from the contest.
“We will witness another brutal disappointment in a comeback that should not happen at all,” Brown said. “Doug Jones just can’t beat Tommy Tuberville. The polls are already showing that Tommy Tuberville is beating Doug Jones by a landslide in the November 3, 2026 general election.”
View this post on Instagram
Brown included a screenshot of the final result in 2020 where Jones lost his Senate seat to Tuberville by over 20 points.
“Democrats, elect JAMEL BROWN on May 19, 2026,” he added. “I promise to deliver strong results, just as the polls have suggested.”
Jones is receiving support from two of the state’s most high-profile Democrats, U.S. Rep. Terri Sewell (D-Birmingham) and Alabama House Minority Leader Anthony Daniels (D-Huntsville).
The former Senator is also reportedly in search of an event venue to hold a campaign kickoff rally on December 12, likely in Birmingham, near where Jones lives in Mountain Brook.
Party primary elections will be held on May 19, 2026, and general election, the likely venue of a Tuberville vs. Jones rematch, will be held on November 3, 2026.

U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) is praising the passage of his legislation that will simplify the legal process for veterans who have been defrauded of their benefits.
Tuberville, along with U.S. Senator John Boozman’s (R-Ariz.), introduced the Veteran Fraud Reimbursement Act, which allows the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) to reimburse victims of fraud without forcing them to jump through unnecessary, bureaucratic hoops.
The bill passed the Senate without amendment by Unanimous Consent Thursday.
“We’d like to believe we live in a country where no one would take advantage of our veterans, but sadly it does happen,” Tuberville said. “This bill attempts to help right that wrong by ensuring veterans with disabilities are made financially whole if they are defrauded of their benefits.”
https://x.com/SenTuberville/status/1991955025367638160
In a July 21, 2021 report, the VA Office of the Inspector General (OIG) highlighted the significant wait times defrauded veterans in the VA fiduciary program face due to the universal negligence determination requirement. Some veterans even died before seeing their reimbursements.
The Veteran Fraud Reimbursement Act will right this wrong by allowing the VBA to conduct a statistically valid analysis of the misuse cases to determine the rate and nature of negligence on the part of the VBA. The negligence determination would ultimately become a part of a quality assurance measure conducted after the affected veteran had been reimbursed
Passage of this legislation builds on Senator Tuberville’s efforts to make targeted changes on behalf of veterans, including with his Supporting Families of the Fallen Act and legislation to streamline post-9/11 GI Bill benefits that have been signed into law.
“It’s my priority to find ways to make the government work better for our veterans, and this bill is a small step toward doing just that,” Tuberville added. “I’m glad to see the Senate pass the Veteran Fraud Reimbursement Act, and hope that the President will act quickly to sign this critical bill for our veterans into law.”
