Political newcomer and GOP congressional candidate Caroleene Dobson has, of late, picked up a number of endorsements. She is backed by the Alabama Farmers Federation, Americans for Tax Reform, multiple state senators and, now, two well-known names with Mobile law enforcement – Sheriff Paul Burch and former Mobile Sheriff Sam Cochran.

“Caroleene Dobson is strong on the border and tough on crime, and those are two essential ingredients we need to keep our citizens protected, our streets safe, and our communities free from drugs,” Burch, a 35-year law enforcement veteran, said. “I know she will be a committed congressional ally to all of the men and women who wear a law enforcement uniform, and Caroleene is determined to secure the funding, resources, and equipment that allow our departments to carry out their duties.”

Cochran also praised Dobson’s stance on issues effecting the Southern border.

“Caroleene Dobson understands that abandoning our border promotes the free flow of illicit drugs like fentanyl while encouraging human trafficking, sex trafficking, and the presence of dangerous foreign criminals,” said Cochran.

“My deputies had daily encounters with forced laborers and narcotics that have been transported here illegally, but much of that can end if Caroleene is given the opportunity to finish the wall, seal the border, and deport those who break our laws with their simple presence.”

Dobson serves on the Alabama Forestry Commission and the board of the Southeastern Livestock Exposition.

The GOP runoff election for the Second Congressional District is April 16.
