Statement from Rep. Roby on SOPA & PIPA

Martha Roby (R - AL-02)“There have been a number of issues raised about the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and the PROTECT IP Act (PIPA). My understanding is that House leadership yesterday shelved SOPA until significant changes could be made to address some of those concerns. It makes sense to slow down and make sure the legislation is carefully written in a way that achieves broad support. I’ll look forward to evaluating the changes that will be proposed.

There is no word on if Sen. Reid has halted his effort to rush PIPA to the Senate floor for a vote.”
