Have you ever gone fishing at the Gulf State Park Fishing and Education Pier? If so, Alabama State Parks wants to hear from you. In an effort to continually provide quality outdoor experiences, Alabama State Parks is launching an online survey to learn more about the experiences of anglers who utilize the pier.

Everyone from avid fishermen to occasional anglers is encouraged to take the survey so that Alabama State Parks can better provide a quality fishing experience at the state’s only public pier on the Gulf. The survey takes only a few minutes to complete and is available at this link.

“We are thankful for the many visitors who choose the pier as a fishing destination,” said Emily Vanderford, State Parks Natural Resources Planner. “Our goal is to provide them with the best fishing experience possible. The data collected through this survey will help us accomplish that goal and assist us in meeting the needs of our park visitors.”

The current Gulf State Park Pier was opened in 2009 after the original pier was destroyed by Hurricane Ivan. The 1,540-foot pier is open 24 hours a day and features an indoor concession-area, comfort stations and wheelchair accessible rail fishing.
