Four teams comprised of staffers for some of Alabama’s top elected leaders recently duked it out in the Inaugural Goat Hill Kickball League Championship.

The league consisted of four teams:
Executive Order (Offices of Governor/Lt. Governor)
Ocho Cinco (Offices of the Speaker of the House and Senate President Pro Tem)
All Night Filibusters (Employees of House and Senate)
Players General (Attorney Generals Office)

The teams played a series of games over three weeks at Lagoon Park and Monday night the Executive Order and Ocho Cinco played for top team on goat hill.

The championship was a defensive battle with zero runs scored until the sixth inning when Franklin Johnson of the Executive Order scored the winning run.

The staffers began “kicking” the idea of the league around during their lunch breaks, and decided the games would be a nice way for them to get to know each another outside of the office.

The final standings were:
1st Place – Executive Order
2nd Place – Ocho Cinco
3rd Place – Players General
4th Place All Night Filibusters
