‘Sons of Anarchy’ stars coming to Alabama to support fundraiser for veterans

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Boot Campaign, a nationally-known charity for veterans, is coming to Birmingham next month to raise money in support of the military community.

The weekend long fundraiser called “Bama’s Boots, Bands, & Bikes” will feature Tommy Flanagan and Mark Boone, Jr. from FX’s smash television show Sons of Anarchy, who will attend a ticketed dinner fundraiser at Voodoo Cafe in Hoover Friday, May 15th.

A day long family festival on Saturday, May 16th at the Pavilion at The Oak Mountain Amphitheater will feature live music, food trucks, a kid zone, vendors and more. Flanagan and Boone will also be on hand to participate in meet-and-greets, sign autographs, and support the mission of the Boot Campaign.

On Sunday May 17th, a charity motorcycle ride beginning at the Heart of Dixie Harley-Davidson in Pelham and end at Riders Harley-Davidson in Trussville. Honored guests will include family members of those that fought and died with Marcus Luttrell during Operation Red Wing, as portrayed in the movie Lone Survivor. A VIP party will follow with a meet and greet with Flanagan and Boone and a silent auction.

According to its website, The Boot Campaign’s mission is to promote patriotism for America and our military community; raise awareness of the unique challenges service members face during and post-service; and provide assistance to military personnel, past and present, and their families.
