Showdown in Tuscaloosa: Alabama to take on Tennessee next week in nighttime game slot

The Alabama Crimson Tide got a massive piece of news this week when the game time for their Third Saturday in October showdown next week against Tennessee was revealed.

Fans who were upset with the reality that the huge road game at Missouri this week is going to be an early kick got some relief when it was revealed the Volunteers will have to come to Bryant-Denny Stadium under the lights, with kick time taking place at 6:30 p.m. CST.

It will be Alabama’s second attempt this season at avenging a loss from last year following a dropped game in Knoxville for consecutive road losses in the rivalry. As for in Tuscaloosa, it’s been over two decades since Tennessee won in Bryant-Denny, last claiming victory all the way back in 2003.

After winning 15 in a row in The Third Saturday in October at the height of the Saban era, the Crimson Tide have now lost two of their last three to the hated rival Volunteers.

Should they be able to handle business at home, it would be a massive victory both for this year’s team and for the tenur of Kalen DeBoer.

Alabama’s new head coach has yet to taste the smoky cigar flavored victory over Tennessee, but now with the Volunteers coming to town under the lights, the stakes just got even more significant.
