Friday, incumbent Alabama Public Service Commission (PSC) Republicans Jeremy Oden and Chip Beeker landed the endorsement of Senate President Pro Tem Greg Reed (R-Jasper).

Oden and Beeker face primary challenges in the June 21 runoff election for the Place 1 and Place 2 seats on the state’s chief utility regulatory commission.

In announcing the endorsement, Reed, the legislature’s top Republican and highest-ranking member, proclaimed that the conservative PSC commissioners would continue their efforts to shield Alabama ratepayers from the Biden administration’s liberal agenda.

“Jeremy Oden and Chip Beeker understand the importance of protecting Alabama’s conservative way of life and fighting back against extreme, top-down policies being pushed on us by the federal government,” declared Reed.

Reed asserted that Oden and Beeker had served to advance Republicans’ efforts to champion conservative policy solutions that champion economic growth and limit the power of government.

“We have made significant progress in growing Alabama’s economy and reducing the size of state government and these men have been great partners,” added the Senate leader. “I encourage Alabamians to join me in voting for conservatives Chip Beeker and Jeremy Oden on June 21.”

In addition to Reed, the PSC commissioners hold the endorsements of Lt. Gov. Will Ainsworth and House Speaker Mac McCutcheon (R-Monrovia).
