Saban’s message to QBs: ‘Force me to play you’

“I don’t like to lose. I don’t expect to lose.”

Now add, “Force me to play you.”

Those quotes come from Coach Nick Saban, the most successful coach in college football history. He’s won seven national titles and sent more players to the NFL than any SEC coach in the entire conference’s history.

Saban is in the process of selecting this season’s starting QB among Dylan Lonergan, Jalen Milroe, Ty Simpson, and Tyler Buchner.

With four highly touted signal-callers competing for the position and the start of the season just 14 days away, Saban had one message for them.

“Force me to play you.”

Former Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy weighed in on the four-way competition Friday on WJOX94.5.
