It’s been a year since the Sept. 11, 2012 terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, and Rep. Martha Roby, R-Montgomery, indicated Wednesday she is not satisfied with the information the Obama Administration has made available to Congress with regard to the attack.

In a video address, Roby recognized the 12-year anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks before announcing that she will be holding Benghazi hearings next week in her role as chairwoman of the House Armed Services Committee’s Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations.

“Today… marks one year since we lost four brave Americans in the terrorist attacks on an American compound in Benghazi, Libya,” Roby said. “We honor their sacrifice and vow to ensure their lives were not lost in vain. Right now, the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations is taking the necessary steps to ensure we learn lessons from Benghazi so that it never happens again.”

“In fact, next week we will hold a public hearing to flesh out just what we have learned and how it will be applied going forward,” she continued. “Our work on Oversight and Investigations has not been and will not be a political exercise. Republicans and Democrats alike have asked important questions about our preparedness that day, and as chairman, I’ll continue to ensure our work remains non-political and above-board.”
