U.S. Reps. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) and Dale Strong (R-Huntsville) believe it’s time for Congress to start codifying some of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) cuts.

President Donald Trump sent members of Congress a request this week to cut $9.4 million in approved spending. The package includes cuts to Public Broadcasting and foreign aid.

“Congress is set to receive the rescissions package from [President Donald Trump] this week – this package codifies $9.4 billion in [DOGE] cuts and begins to rein in the waste, fraud, and abuse we have seen in government agencies for too long,” Moore said. “The American people are waiting for Congress to codify these cuts. Let’s get it done!”

Strong focused on the need to cut funding for National Public Radio (NPR) and Public Broadcasting Station (PBS) because of their well known left-wing bias.

“President Trump just sent us a plan to slash $9.4 billion in bloated foreign aid and leftist media handouts,” Strong said. “I’ve called for NPR’s funding to be cut from the beginning. Taxpayer dollars shouldn’t be used to promote left-wing propaganda. It’s time to act fast, get it passed, cut the waste, and put the American taxpayer first.”

Strong introduced the No More Funding for NPR Act of 2025 earlier this year, which would prevent taxpayer dollars from going to the organization.

Republicans would be able to pass the measure without the help of Democrats since it only a simple majority support in the House and the Senate.
