According to a report from the National Review, U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik said her political action committee is extending its interest down south. Stefanik’s E-PAC has raised more than $3 million increase the number of Republican women elected to Congress.
Moreover, as National Review reports, E-PAC, “once an insurgent organization dedicated to electing conservative women and bucking party leadership, has transformed into a de facto leadership campaign arm as the New York Republican climbs the ranks.”
For the 2024 cycle, E-PAC’s endorsements align closely with top NRCC recruits, leveraging Stefanik’s strong fundraising capabilities with the priorities of a hopeful House GOP majority after the general election in November.
Stefanik underscored one of those first-round endorsements by name: Alabama 2nd Congressional District candidate and Republican nominee Caroleene Dobson.
“One of the things I’m most proud of is [that] E-PAC is often the first endorsement of these key races,” she said. “That’s a sleeper race you guys aren’t paying attention to,” Stefanik said.
Dobson faces Democratic nominee Shomari Figures, a Mobile native with an extensive resume of appointments to both the Obama and Biden administrations in D.C. since 2009. The November 2024 general election will be the first test of new district lines after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled the map drawn by Alabama violated the Voting Rights Act.
“She’s going to win that race,” Rep. Stefanik said.
