Our Southern Border is wide open, and Secretary Mayorkas has done absolutely nothing to bring relief to the crisis the Biden administration has created. President Biden inherited the lowest rate of illegal immigration in 45 years, and 3 years into his presidency, we are seeing the highest-ever rate of illegal immigrants pouring into our country.
Since President Biden took office, there have been over 8 million immigrants flow into our country. This is a humanitarian crisis, and it must end immediately. We can do this by finishing the wall, properly funding ICE and border patrol agents, giving law enforcement the tools they need to keep us safe, and investing in cutting-edge technology.
House Republicans already passed H.R. 2, The Secure the Border Act, which is the strongest border bill in history. If the Senate was serious about addressing the crisis at our border, they would have passed H.R. 2 months ago. Instead, they send us a “border bill” that allows 5,000 illegal immigrants into our country a day, and rewards and incentivizes illegal immigration. Securing our border should not be a political chess piece, and the Senate must pass H.R. 2 immediately.
The state of our border is a growing national security threat with over 160 people from the FBI’s terrorist watch list coming into our country through the southern border – and those are just the ones we’ve caught. Not to mention, the drugs and human trafficking flowing across every single day. Secretary Mayorkas took an oath to defend and protect our country when he was sworn in as Secretary of Homeland Security, and he has completely failed to fulfill that oath.
There is blood on his hands, and it is past time that he be held accountable for failing to do his job.
Securing the border and ensuring the safety and security of all Americans is one of my top priorities, and Impeaching Secretary Mayorkas and getting H.R. 2 signed into law is how we do that.
