For the fifth consecutive year, American Banker magazine has recognized Regions Bank’s Kate Danella as one of the “25 most powerful women in banking.”

The head of Regions’ Consumer Banking Group, Danella is ranked ninth this year.

“Since Kate joined Regions in 2015, her commitment to innovation and her focus on delivering a superior customer experience have had a meaningful impact on our customers,” said John Turner, President and CEO of Regions Financial Corp. “Under her leadership, our Consumer Banking Group has helped people improve their financial wellbeing through tools such as Regions Early Pay and the Regions Protection Line of Credit, as well as Regions Overdraft Grace.

“By keeping customers at the center of every decision, Kate and her teams are building solid relationships and deeper trust between the bank and our customers.”

“She is a thoughtful, strategic leader who guides and inspires her team to constantly envision how we can raise the bar. And it is rewarding to once again see American Banker recognize and honor her commitment.”

Danella became head of consumer banking in May 2022 after serving as chief strategy and client experience Officer.

This year’s honorees are featured in American Banker’s October 2023 issue.
