President Donald Trump joined Republican elected officials for a breakfast on Sunday at the historic Blair House as part of his inaugural festivities.
The meeting gave Trump a last-minute opportunity to discuss next steps with senior lawmakers who will be in charge of delivering his legislative agenda ahead ahead of his swearing-in ceremony, which took place this morning in the rotunda of the U.S. Capitol.
U.S. Senator Katie Britt was on hand for the event at the President’s official guest house.
“We just got back to the Capitol from breakfast with President Trump,” said Britt (R-Montgomery). “It was incredible. I’ve never been to the Blair House, so that was just special as it was. But we got to hear his vision. He answered questions. He talked about what he was going to be doing. It’s just an exciting time for our country. I have never felt more unity within the Republican Party. And I think we know because this is our moment. This is our moment to take our country back for our children and our children’s children.”

Vice President JD Vance and Trump’s chief of Staff Susie Wiles were also in attendance at the breakfast.
Trump started Inauguration Day off by attending service at the historic St. John’s Church followed by tea with President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden in the White House. Hours later he took part in a lunch with lawmakers in the Capitol and an inaugural parade event inside the Capitol One arena. Later this evening, Trump is scheduled to attend three inaugural balls: the Commander in Chief Ball, the Liberty Inaugural Ball, and the Starlight Ball.
