Phillip Rigsby, a Huntsville pharmacist, has announced his intentions to seek election to the Alabama House of Representatives, District 25, which is currently occupied by outgoing Speaker Mac McCutcheon (R-Monrovia).

McCutcheon, who has served his district in the State House for 14 years, last month announced that he would not seek another term as member of the legislature’s lower chamber.

“No one can ever replace Speaker McCutcheon,” said Rigsby. “I want to carry on the legacy and groundwork he has laid for our district.”
Rigsby says he will place constituent services as a top priority.

“As a pharmacist, I have learned to listen to my patient’s issues, even when it seemed no one else would,” said Rigsby. “As a compounding pharmacist, I can think outside of the box to become an advocate and problem solver for them. I will take these skills to District 25 and listen to the people. I will go to Montgomery and fight for the issues facing them.”

In his campaign announcement, the Huntsville pharmacist pledged to stand on a conservative platform.

“I will stand up for our 2nd Amendment rights, protect the unborn, and fight against the liberal policies that are being pushed upon us. It’s time to make our voices loud and clear against the cancel culture,” Rigsby advised.

Rigsby is a graduate of Auburn University and is the owner of two Huntsville-based businesses, Huntsville Compounding Pharmacy and The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy. He also serves in several volunteer capacities with Monrovia Volunteer Fire and Rescue.

House District 25 encompasses Madison and Limestone Counties.
