A very small group of protestors demonstrated outside the State Capitol in Montgomery Friday over U.S. Sen. Katie Britt’s (R-Montgomery) vote in favor of the “One, Big, Beautiful Bill.”

An organization called “Alabama Resisters of Indivisible” organized the protest, admitting on their Facebook Page that only 14 people showed up to the event.

The group claims to be one of “like-minded individuals who believe kings have no place in this country’s government. We are centered in Montgomery, the state capital of Alabama.”

“She can afford to not vote with Trump and the MAGAs on things that would affect Alabamians and make life better,” one protester said about Britt. “Instead, she voted for the Big, Beautiful Bill that took away Medicaid, that took away funding for food for kids, for school programs, and she’s gone along with the arrest of immigrants without habeas corpus or due process.”

According to recently conducted polling, Britt is the most popular elected official in the state of Alabama. Britt’s favorability is 72%, with an incredibly low unfavorable rating of only 14%.

Britt hasn’t been shy about supporting the bill, which she argues will help provide much need tax relief to average Alabamians.

“Proud to support the Working Family Tax Cuts bill,” Britt said, “which provides significant relief for seniors so retirees can keep more of what they earned.”
