‘One of the strongest in American history’: Britt, Alabama lawmakers praise JD Vance’s debate performance

After last night’s performance in the 2024 CBS News Vice Presidential Debate, Ohio Senator JD Vance drew unanimous praise from Alabama’s elected officials for his quick work defeating the Governor of Minnesota and Democrat nominee for VP, Tim Walz.

Out of the group of lawmakers from the Yellowhammer State, U.S. Senator Katie Britt was perhaps the most involved in terms of supporting Vance. On Tuesday evening, Britt fielded questions from reporters live from the venue.

She told media it was “one of the best in American history.”

“He was outstanding. I thought he was collected. He was on point and he was very direct. But I thought the American people got to know JD Vance. To your point, I was asked a number of times before this and I said I was honored to know JD not just as a colleague but as a person, as a friend. When you get to know people like he and Usha as people and as parents, you get to see their heart, you get to see their vision for the country.”

“Tonight he laid out a vision and he showed why Donald Trump needs to be back in the White House.”

Prior to the debate, Britt posted on X that the Biden-Harris Administration has “failed at every turn.”

Mercedes Schlapp, former White House director of strategic communications and current Newsmax contributor, noted Britt’s unique ability to be a clear messenger for Republicans and explained what that could potentially mean for Democrats on Election Day.

Senator Tommy Tuberville said that Vance delivered a ‘master class.’

Congressman Gary Palmer (R-Hoover) declared Vance the “runaway winner.”

Congressman Robert Aderholt (R-Haleyville) was also pleased with the result of the debate but noted the bias of the moderators.

The debate was the first and only debate between the two nominees for VP and was held exactly five weeks before Election Day.
